Hundreds of Eritreans in the UK attended a concert at Camden Hall to celebrate the New Year.  Followed by the countdown to Midnight, the Eritrean Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland Mr Negasi Sengal gave a speech highlighting Eritrea’s accomplishments during 2005 and the international community’s failure to enforce the final and binding international ruling on the border problem between Eritrea and Ethiopia.

The atmosphere was very good as people of all ages thronged into the concert area with enthusiasm. Organised by the Events Organising Committee, it featured top London based Eritrean artists such as Okbay Mesfun, Berhe (Wedi Jida), Osman Hassen and Omar. The band came onto the stage and began straight away with tunes that moved the crowd to the dancing floor. The celebration continued until five o’clock in the morning.
