Eritrea in the International Day at Lougborough University

Eritrea also featured in the International Day at Lougborough University on May 13, 2009 through the initiative and hard work of an Eritrean Mathematics student, Helen Tesfazghi. Helen made tremendous effort to organize an Eritrean stand and introduce Eritrea to the public and raise the image of the country. An excerpt from Helen's Report sent to the Embassy states as follows:

' ….. You will be happy to know that there was much interest from people about Eritrea. Many were fascinated by the beauty of it's land and people and intrigued by its culture and history. Some even expressed their interest to visit the country.

……. This photo is of me, Semhar (first year student also studying at
Lougborough- middle) and Betty (a friend who came up from London to help - left). However if I manage to receive more photos of the day I will be sure to forward them to you!

Also you will be interested to know that following the International Day, Semhar and I also participated in an African Fashion show where we walked down the catwalk to Abraham Afworki in traditional Eritrean Clothing. I shall be receiving photographs and maybe footage of this which I shall forward to you also….'
