Conference brings the emergence of a strong, conscious and patriotic youth movement to light. |

The 3rd YPFDJ Conference was successfully held between the 6th and the 8th of April 2007 in the South of England. Participants from as far as Australia, the United States, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Austria, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, England and Scotland attended the conference adding a wealth of experience and knowledge to the event. Presnet at the conference were Mr Yemane Gebreab, Head of Political Affairs at the People’s Front for Democracy and Justice, Mr Zemhret Yohannes, Head of the Research and Documentation Centre of Eritrea, Ambassador Negasi Sengal and other senior representatives of PFDJ in Europe. The main theme of the conference was based on building a strong, concourse and patriotic youth movement that is able to maintain and carry forward the values that has lead Eritrea on a successful track. Delegates from each country presented a report of their activities highlighting their achievements, challenges and plan of action for the coming year. One of the highlights of the conference was the opening ceremony, where a UK based youth cultural group presented a musical drama portraying the Eritrean struggle for independence. The conference brought to light the emerging of strong youth movement that is both conscious and patriotic and is playing a key role in sharing the burden of responsibility in constructing a viable and sustainable Eritrea.
