The people and Government of Eritrea strongly condemn Ms Jendayi Fraser's slanderous accusations and her evil mission in the Horn of Africa

Addressing the press conference at the American Embassy in Ethiopia, Ms Jendayi Fraser called for 'regime change' in Eritrea if Eritrea was to avoid being placed on the US list of countries that sponsor terrorism.  How absurd!  Ms Fraser needs to realise that terrorising nations through threats, slanderous accusations and /or brute force, amounts to an act of terrorism.  Indeed, if there was justice in this world, Ms Fraser and the lawless Meles would be held accountable for their acts of terrorism for they are the 'real' terrorists here.

To Ms Fraser's best knowledge, 'terrorism' seems to be a phenomenon that began on 11 September 2001.  How foolish!  Ms Fraser needs to read more and realise that young Eritrea was a 'genuine' victim of 'real' (not 'imagined') terrorism long before 11 September 2001, and that the people and Government of Eritrea have long been fighting and shall continue the fight against 'real' terrorism.  It is unfortunate that Ms Fraser's foolish and irresponsible statement, which blurs the distinction between right and wrong, between good and evil, has the potential to undermine the fight against 'real' terrorism.

Ms Fraser needs to realise that the illegal invasion of Somalia on the pretext of 'fighting against terrorism', which was only designed to bring about chaos and instability in the country and the region at large, is an act of evil, while Eritrea's genuine efforts to constructively help the Somali people liberate their country and reconstitute themselves as a nation is something good and right.  Ms Fraser's statement, however, seems to suggest that should a nation choose to do evil, the US will wine and dine them and would be considered worthy to be US' partners.  Should a nation choose to do something right and good, however, they risk being placed on the US list of 'terrorists'.  How demonic!!!

The people and Government of Eritrea strongly condemn Ms Fraser's slanderous accusations and her evil mission in the Horn region in general.  'Terrorism' might be new to Ms Fraser, but the people and Government of Eritrea have been fighting against 'real' (not 'imagined') terrorism for years now, and would not allow any mess in the region that would later be a breeding ground for 'real' terrorism.  As an African American, Ms Fraser's evil role in the Horn of Africa, is an embarrassment to the African continent at large, and damaging to the credibility of the US Administration in the Horn region.  The people and Government of Eritrea will not be intimidated by Ms Fraser's baseless and slanderous accusations, and shall continue to play constructive role in the Horn region, and that includes ensuring the Somali people liberate and reconstitute themselves as a nation.

It is the 21st century, yet we are living in an 'era of lawlessness' where military might appears to have replaced the rule of law.  It is imperative that every peace-loving and civilised nation makes their voice heard against this rather dangerous state-of-affairs sooner rather than later.
